Senator Clausen voted no on the Agriculture and Environment finance bill, which included the Minnesota Zoo's full funding request of $8.25 million a year. As a state agency, the Zoo is a valuable asset to our community and our state. The Zoo is a top attraction in Dakota County and provides jobs, education, and conservation outreach. The Zoo has an annual statewide economic impact of $146 million a year, that's a return on investment of $26 for every $1 invested by the state.

I don't understand why senator Clausen, who claims to support the Zoo, would want to deny them funding to run their operations.

I'm glad that Reps Tara Mack and Anna Wills voted yes to support the Zoo, they understand how important the Zoo is, not only to our community, but also to our state.
