It is on Saturday, March 11th at 1:30 PM at Falcon Ridge Middle School.  Please show up and lend your support to Anna Wills!

The calls for our 2017 Convention just went in the mail so if you haven't already received them, you should be shortly.  If you don't, by all means, contact us.

If you've lost your call, you can retrieve a copy online.  The basic information though, is that our convention is on Saturday, February 18th, 2017 starting at 10am.  It will be located at:

Crossroads Church
17671 Glacier Way
Lakeville, MN 55044

While we will have print outs of these items available, it may be helpful to print out in advance copies of our Agenda/Rules and our Constitution Committee Report in advance so you can familiarize yourself with them.

Hope to see you there!

As instructed by the HD57A delegates, the Executive Committee planned a special Endorsing Convention for House District 57A (currently represented by Rep. Tara Mack). Calls will be going out to HD57A delegates on Monday.

If you are a HD57A Delegate and do not receive one, please let us know.

The Resolutions Committee has finished their report for this weekends convention.  There will be copies available at the convention but as the report can sometimes get rather involved and lengthy, we know that some people like to review it in advance.  You can get your copy here.

If you're a delegate or alternate for the upcoming SD57 Convention, you should have already received a convention call in the mail.  If not, here are the details.

The convention will take place on Saturday, April 2nd 2016 at:

Dakota County Technical College
Dakota Room A&B
1300 145th Street East
Rosemount, Minnesota 55068

Note: The Western entrance is the closest to the Dakota room.

Registration will begin at 8:30AM and we will be starting proceeding promptly at 9:00 AM.

If you're an alternate, you should know that alternates are quite frequently seated so if you attend you will most likely be able to fully participate.

Also, please feel free to review the proposed Agenda and Rules for the convention.

More details coming soon, but just a heads up that our SD57 BPOU Convention will be on April 2nd at the Dakota County Technical College.

Registration will begin at 8:30 AM and we'll commence at 9:00 AM

We'll have more details confirmed in the next couple days but there has been some confusion as far as the location so we just wanted to clear up that confusion.

Precinct Caucuses are here again in Minnesota and this is your chance to lay the ground work towards electing Republicans in everything from City Council to President of the United States.  This is where it all starts!

Who can attend Precinct Caucuses?

You can! Precinct caucuses are open to the public and as a grassroots organization, we depend on your involvement!

In order to vote, offer resolutions, or become a delegate, you must:

  • Be eligible to vote in the fall election
  • Live in the precinct.
  • Be in agreement with the principles of the Republican Party and plan to vote for a Republican for president.

What are Precinct Caucuses?

This is the start of organizing for the election in November and there are a number of things you'll do to begin that process.

  1. Vote in the Presidential straw poll, indicating your preference for the Republican Presidential candidate! This year it's a bind vote, so Minnesota delegates at the National Convention will be determined by your vote!
  2. Elect precinct officers who will organize political activities in your precinct! Precincts are the most basic political unit and many activities start at this level.
  3. Elect delegates to represent your precinct at upcoming political conventions! After this there will be BPOU, Congressional District, State and National conventions where Republican candidates at all levels will be determined. Your delegates represent you at those conventions.
  4. Discuss issues important to you with those that live near you! Your precinct can pass resolutions, which are idea you want Republican candidates to support. Those ideas may very well become part of the party platform

When are Precinct Caucuses?

The Minnesota major political parties have determined that Minnesota's precinct caucuses will be held on Tuesday, March 1st, 2016 at 7:00 pm.

Please write down what precinct you're in and bring that with to the appropriate location! We will start in a general session for that location but then we'll break into precincts, so it'll help if you know which precinct room you should go to in advance!

How will the Precinct Caucuses be conducted?

When you show up at your precinct caucus location at 7pm on Tuesday, March 1st, we will start out in a general session (follow the signs). There one of our local Republican party officers will welcome you and introduce the process and what's going to happen to any newcomers. It's very possible that one or more office holders will be allowed to give a very brief speech.

Then the group will be dispersed to our precinct rooms.  When you first arrive you will be given a map so you know what classroom your precinct is meeting in. Head to that room and you'll be asked to sign in, and you'll be given a ballot for the Presidential Straw Poll. After the poll is conducted the results will be announced and then your precinct will proceed to elect precinct officers, delegates and discuss any resolutions that anyone wishes to propose.
